- Description
- The New Jerusalem is a setting taken from the last book of the Bible: Revelations 21: i-iv. It is a prophetic message of renewal.
I originally wrote a choral work called The Heavenly Jerusalem in 1969, for soprano, alto, baritone choir, speaker and organ. This version uses the material of the old and specifies soloists instead of the choral forces. The new version is much simplified and is thought to be more appropriate to concert performance rather than a liturgical setting.
