- This is a partially improvised piece within detailed guidelines as to how it should be performed. The instrumentation also has free elements as it includes a flexible number of players. The piece may be performed as ‘music theatre’ and suggestions for this are given in the score.
Come In for a Chat ! describes a social scene where guests have been invited for a chat. The musical material represents the conversations that take place, starting with ‘polite’, ‘energetic’ and building to a furious row. The piece ends with a suggestion of deep regret.
